Installation Requirements: Between Windows

In the figure above, the dotted lines represent stud placement.

While Tonal can be installed between windows, window configuration and layout can make this a more challenging arrangement. The final assessment of your space is performed by your authorized Tonal Installers on-site on the day of installation. We recommend selecting a strong backup location if your primary is between windows.

Please note that there must be a minimum of 5” between the edge of each window and the studs Tonal will be installed on. Depending on the placement of studs, Tonal may not be able to be installed centered between the windows.

There is typically a stud at the edge of each window. The bracket used to secure Tonal to the wall cannot be installed directly on a stud that is part of the window framing; this would prevent Tonal from attaching properly and sitting flush on the bracket. See the dimensions of the Tonal and bracket here:

Please see our How to Find Stud Type and Stud Spacing tutorial to locate the studs between your windows. If you are uncertain of the studs in this space, that’s okay! As long as you select a compatible secondary location as a backup, our team can finish the assessment on site.
