What is wainscoting?

Wainscoting is decorative wood paneling that has a lot more than simple aesthetic appeal–it’s a feature used by homeowners for centuries to protect walls from damage like scuff marks, dents from furniture, and other nicks and scratches that can ruin the vibe in any room. 

But when you’re installing Tonal on wainscoting, there are some important factors to consider before you complete your Tonal Installation Form.

The Tonal wall bracket must sit flush against the wall to achieve an accurate and safe installation. To protect the wall and surrounding belongings in your home, our Installers are not authorized to remove wainscoting from installation locations.

If you have wainscoting in your installation space, we recommend working with a contractor to partially remove wainscoting prior to your scheduled installation date. Please review the options below to remove wainscoting and prepare your space for your Tonal installation.
