The standard 6-foot power cord accommodates most installation locations. If your preferred installation location is more than 6 feet from an electrical outlet, you may either:

  • Use an extension cord that is 6 feet or longer and 14 AWG (or heavier gauge), or

  • Use an alternative power cord that meets the specifications below.

Tonal’s priority is always to ensure every trainer is safely powered.

Cord specifications:

  • Three (3) conductor cables with NEMA 5-15P to C13 connectors

  • Minimum 14 AWG wire

  • 15A rating

  • 120 VAC

  • Type SJ or SJT (Stranded Junior Thermoplastic) Cable

  • UL/CSA certified

  • Maximum length 15 feet

Any alternative power cord that meets the specifications above is supported for use with Tonal.

Any cord that does not meet the requirements above is not recommended for use and could affect your Tonal Warranty.

Tonal is for use on a nominal 120-V circuit. All supported power cords will have a grounding plug. Ensure your Tonal is connected to an outlet with the same configuration as the plug. No adapter should be used with Tonal.

Best Practice: When plugging and unplugging your Tonal, please act with caution to ensure that the AC rocker switch, which is located at the bottom of the Tonal, is turned to the “OFF” position BEFORE plugging the power cord into the outlet. We want to avoid the rare occurrence of sparks igniting when plugging the Tonal in.
