When we say Tonal is intelligent workout equipment, we truly mean it. In addition to its smart features and dynamic weight modes, Tonal offers an Auto Weight Off feature that automatically turns off the weight after the first two reps. The only requirement is that you remain still, as it won’t activate while you're in motion.
Picture this scenario: you're feeling exhausted, and pressing the buttons on the smart handles or bar control becomes challenging. Simply remain still, and the weight will automatically turn off.
If you prefer more time before Auto Weight Off activates, you can customize the delay, ranging from two (2) to ten (10) seconds before it kicks in. It's important to note that it won't activate until you've completed your initial two reps.
Customizing Timing for Auto Weight Off
This feature is available for most movements and kicks in after two (2) seconds of stillness but you can customize it based on your preference:
Swipe across the weight dial.
Adjust the slider to select the auto weight off between 2-10 seconds.
In case you encounter difficulties during a rep or set, the Spotter mode will assist as usual. But if you find yourself unable to continue and need substantial support, just stay still, and let the Auto Weight Off feature gradually reduce the weight until it's completely off.
What is the difference between Spotter and Auto Weight Off feature?Spotter Mode comes into play when you’re lifting weights, specifically during the lifting phase (concentric). It helps out by reducing the weight if you’re having trouble and then automatically increases it back to the original setting after you complete a rep. Auto Weight Off, on the other hand, can be triggered in all phases of the move after two reps, including lifting, lowering, and holding the weight still (concentric, eccentric, and isometric). The main difference is that Auto Weight Off can be customized with a timer.
Auto Weight Off is available for most exercises on Tonal, and it functions even when Burnout mode is active!
