Tonal’s arms are linked to the trainer using an active wireless connection. Before you begin, make sure there are functional batteries in the Tonal arms and swap them out if needed.

Expected Behavior
  • When properly linked and connected, the physical rotate button moves the arms horizontally, from side to side.

Steps to Link Arms

Follow along to link Tonal arms, working with one arm at a time.

  1. Swipe down from the top of Tonal’s screen to open the Settings menu.

  2. Select the Tonal icon

  3. In the pop-up menu, select Arms & Track. If the arms are linked, a battery icon is displayed in the pop-up menu.

If the arms are not linked, a red exclamation mark displays next to them.

  1. Tap Relink Left Arm or Relink Right Arm

  2. Press and hold the arm rotate button (gray button) on the Tonal arm, and wait until the arm fully links. The arm is fully linked when a Right/Left arm linked message displays.

  1. Once the arm is fully linked, release the arm rotate button.

If pressing the arm rotate button unlocks the opposite arm, follow the steps to troubleshoot cross-linked arms. If you’re experiencing an issue that isn’t related to crosslinked arms, have a look at our general troubleshooting for arm rotation.
