Selling my Tonal

Not using your Tonal trainer? You can always get in touch to pause your membership until you’re ready to continue your strength journey with us. 

However, if you want to sell your Tonal trainer and accessories, there are a few things to consider to ensure the transaction goes smoothly for you and the buyer.


Membership

If you plan to sell your Tonal, remember that you’ll have to complete your initial 12-month membership commitment before canceling otherwise, the new owner will be required to sign up for a membership to complete the remaining months. After your 12-month commitment is fulfilled, you’ll need to cancel your membership before you sell your trainer. By calling us at 855-MY-TONAL to cancel your membership, you allow the new owner to activate their own membership once they’ve completed their installation. Lastly, you’ll want to remove your profile avatar from the login page. Tonal will not remotely remove your data from your trainer, so if you leave your information on your trainer, the new owner will have access to it. You can remove your user profiles and local data from the device by resetting your app data. To request a full and permanent account deletion, which includes removing any personal data from Tonal systems, please reach out to us by submitting a request via our Account Deletion Request page.

Uninstalling a Tonal Trainer

For the best experience, and to avoid damaging your Tonal, we recommend purchasing a relocation kit for a seamless uninstallation and installation experience. 

While self-uninstallation is possible, we still highly suggest purchasing a relocation kit given the equipment’s complexity and weight. Click here to learn more about relocation kits or give us a call at 855-MY-TONAL to speak with a live Advocate.

Installation Space Requirements

Another factor you’ll want to bring to the buyer’s attention is the installation requirements. They will likely want to familiarize themselves with what spaces may or may not work before they make a final decision.  

Since they aren’t going through our traditional sales process, they won’t be prompted to complete the Tonal installation form to have their space reviewed beforehand.


Tonal has a non-transferable warranty

As you facilitate the sale of your trainer and accessories, one important thing to disclose to a potential buyer is that the secondhand trainer and accessories will not come with a Tonal warranty

That means the secondary owner will not have a warranty to rely on for defects in materials and workmanship that they might experience, or to ensure that the Tonal trainer and equipment continue to function properly (see details and exclusions).   

Additionally, we’re happy to assist with troubleshooting and account-related support; however, any servicing needs (including repairs or replacements) for secondary owners would be subject to applicable service fees. You can refer the potential buyer to our Tonal Accessories page on our website if any accessories need to be replaced. Otherwise, they can reach our Customer Care team for further support.

Delete my Data

Lastly, before your Tonal is uninstalled, we recommend you remove your profile(s) from the login screen by completing an App Data Reset:

  1. First, pull down from the top of the Tonal screen to show the settings bar.

  2. Then tap the Tonal icon (second from the right).

  3. Select the option Support.

  4. Then tap Reset App Data.

  5. Click Continue.
